NONNATIVE revamps the iconic VANS SK8-HI. Coming in signature NONNATIVE style long grain hairy suede and sporting a military boot style zip-front tongue, the classic sneakers have been given a sleek contemporary remodelling that also offers added ease-of-wear. The SK8-HI was introduced in 1978 and showcased the now-iconic VANS sidestripe. As only the second model featuring the recognizable marker formerly known as the "jazz stripe," the SK8-HI took skate functionality to the next level €”above the ankle, with added cushioning providing protection where skateboarders needed it most. For this collaboration NONNATIVE has chosen the OG version which was first manufactured in the USA in the early 1980s. A long grain hairy suede has been applied to the upper, while the addition of a detachable military style zip-front tongue provides a new look and offers added ease-of-wear. Elastic panels under the tongue have also been added allowing the shoes to be worn even with the zip open. While this is a revamped, contemporary take on the iconic VANS SK8-HI, designer Takayuki Fujii also pays homage to its classic design by retaining the original silhouette and last, and adding a checker flag pattern lining. The offering comes in BLACK and NONNATIVE theme color BEIGE. SALES LIMITED TO ONE PAIR, PER SIZE, PER COLOR.
