Based in Kochi and founder of Utsuwa Batake, artist Daisuke Nagano embraces a “half-farming, half-pottery” lifestyle. Firing in a traditional wood-fired kiln, he uses natural ash glazes from pine, mandarin peels, and rice straw, giving his ceramics an organic, earthy beauty.
