Toyoki Onimaru opened Onimaru Toyoki Kiln in the traditional Koishiwara ceramics hub of T?h? Village, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1982 after training under ceramic artist Tetsuzo Ota. A local of the area, Onimaru has handcrafted traditional Koishiwara ware with his family for over 40 years. His works are a combination of practicality and beauty, incorporating traditional artisanship with modern design to create vessels able to blend seamlessly into contemporary lifestyles.
