Born in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, Noritaka Sekiguchi studied under Hisakazu Nakamura before building an anagama (wood-fired kiln) in Shiwa Town, Iwate, in 2005. That same year, he began creating pottery.His work is characterized by delicate details that emerge from generous, organic forms. Focusing mainly on neutral tones, he creates simple, unpretentious vessels designed to fit seamlessly into everyday life.
