KOST KAMM is a small family-owned business based in the scenic, rural area of Windelsbach, southern Germany.

The Kost family of comb-makers started crafting combs and brushes made from wood, animal horn, and bone as far back as the mid-1800s.

The business employs a predominantly female workforce of local, skilled artisans, who use traditional handcrafting techniques handed down through many generations.

The wooden products are made from trees grown in local forests, felled, and left to dry for four years before being processed into combs, brushes, and accessories. Sustainability is a key factor in their production ethos, using every scrap of wood to its maximum potential. This consideration is reflected in the natural simplicity of all their products.
