Soft, organic forms that sparkle with individuality. Miyo Oyabu is bringing her glass creations to Tokyo for a solo exhibition.
Based in Yomitan Village, Okinawa, Miyo Oyabu is a master of handblown glass with an unmistakable style.
Her pieces emanate warm, strong energy, with no two shapes quite the same. The rounded, sturdy designs are practical for immediate use in everyday life, and bring a sense of serene elegance through the ethereal quality of the glass.
Miyo Oyabu’s distinctive style is crafted with air bubbles that evoke an underwater feel, no doubt inspired by the beautiful ocean of Okinawa but no less fitting for the riverside location of this exhibition. Miyo Oyabu has created exclusive pieces with touches of fresh green tones, specifically to mirror the lush greenery of the cherry blossom trees that line the Meguro River.
Sparkling in the sunlight, the pieces truly shine during the summer season and offer a cooling, refreshing presence. From elegant tableware to exquisite vases and objects, Miyo Oyabu’s collection offers a tranquil energy to your living space.

Miyo Oyabu is a glass artist based in Yomitan Village, Okinawa. Her artworks, which exude an antique-like quality with trapped air bubbles, have captivated fans not only in Japan but around the world. Miyo Oyabu runs the HIZUKI gallery, located in Yomitan Village, with a desire to create pieces that evoke a sense of both the rising sun and the moon.
