MEN’S & WOMEN’S standards selected by the COVERCHORD buyers.

at COVERCHORD, we think of standards as timeless essentials―pieces to love and rely on for years to come.
In this feature, our men’s and women’s buyers share their favorite spring standards, from clothing and sneakers to accessories, and even a few personal picks from the drinks shelf. Each item is carefully selected and introduced with a personal perspective.
These are everyday pieces that anyone can enjoy, crafted with intention and made to be worn or used for years.
We hope this selection helps inspire your spring shopping.
BUYERS' PICKS:
SPRING STANDARDS
COMOLI’S JEANS
This pair has truly become a “second skin” for me―I’ve worn them endlessly over the years. I’ve been buying them since the early days of the brand, and I’ve gone through eight pairs in total.
As they break in, the fabric develops a soft, fluid drape, and the way it moves as you walk becomes more and more beautiful. The depth of the pockets and the reassuring weight of the pocket lining are just right―honestly, it’s a perfect pair of jeans.
Since I’m not a fan of hems that bunch up over shoes, I adjust the length every time I buy a new pair―sometimes shortening them by a few centimeters, or even cutting them off with scissors.
It’s taken a while, but I think I’ve finally found the ideal length.
With standards like this, you don’t just wear them cleanly―you find your own way to enjoy them. That’s what makes them special.

Aeta’s BACKPACK

The silhouette, proportions, pocket placement, precise stitching, and subtle use of leather―all come together in a beautifully balanced design that is unmistakably Aeta. It’s easy to see why so many top creatives in the industry continue to show love for the brand.
The more standard an item is, the harder it is to make it stand out―but Aeta does it effortlessly. That’s where you really feel their refined sensibility and quiet strength.
This is one of my all-time favorites―I even collaborated with them on a custom color in the past.
Whenever I travel abroad, I narrow down my packing just to make sure this bag fits.
If that means washing my pants at the hotel, so be it.

KOMAKI’S SHOCHU

But now it’s spring―a season of hellos and goodbyes.
Sometimes, I like to drink while quietly reminiscing about days that will never return.
That kind of sentimental drinking has its own charm.
After all, not every drink needs to be a cheerful one.
Also, if you drink it in a glass by MIYO OYABU, it somehow tastes three times better.

ASICS KAYANO

Known for being “delicious, fast, and affordable,” the beloved national staple KAYANO has long outgrown its “old-school” label and can now confidently be called a modern-day standard.
As long as you know your size, all that’s left is choosing from the wide range of color options.
Easy on the wallet and endlessly forgiving, KAYANO is the kind of shoe that won’t leave you regretting your choice―even if you end up thinking, “Maybe I should’ve gone with a different color…”
It may vary from person to person, but ASICS seems to perfectly match the shape of many Japanese feet.
With no quirks in fit and comfort that speaks for itself, it’s a no-fuss, go-to sneaker for all ages.

WOMEN’S BUYERS' PICKS:
SPRING STANDARDS
HAKUJI’S CUP-IN CAMISOLE
The cup-in camisole has become a wardrobe staple and a true ally for women everywhere.
Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I wore a bra with a hook―this is my go-to innerwear now, and I rely on it completely.
This season, we worked with HAKUJI on our very first exclusive version, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out―it's seriously cute.
In spring, I want to layer it under a lace shirt or wear it beneath something sheer―actually, it’s so cute I want it to show through.
Thanks to the asymmetrical design, it doesn’t look like underwear even when worn on its own, which makes it feel stylish and intentional.
Everyone already owns a camisole, which is exactly why you should consider adding one that feels a little more special.

AURALEE’S DENIM

AURALEE’s classic denim gets subtle updates to its fade and silhouette every season.
As someone who came up through vintage shops, I used to be that stubborn guy―“Denim has to be Levi’s. Made in the USA, obviously. And if it’s not BIG E or 66, I’m not interested.” But honestly, I feel like apologizing to my past self.
Because AURALEE’s denim just hits different. It has that clean, modern silhouette you’d never find in vintage. No matter what top or shoes you throw on, the look never feels off. It’s simple, but somehow always feels fresh.
They're hard to get your hands on each season for a reason―there’s just no excuse not to pick up a pair.

SALOMON XT-6

When it comes to SALOMON, the XT-6 is the model.
For many―including myself―it’s the shoe that introduced us to the brand.
As a perfect gateway into SALOMON, the XT-6 stands out not just for its design, but for its wide range of colorways that keeps things feeling fresh every season.
Think light gray with lime, or light brown with a soft green―unexpected combos that somehow just work.
The GORE-TEX-equipped black pair is a solid go-to, but because it's such a staple silhouette, it feels like the perfect excuse to play with color.

and wander’s “SHAKA SHAKA”

What do you call this kind of outerwear?
A nylon jacket? A windbreaker? My dad still calls it a “jumper.”
As for me―since middle school, I’ve always called it SHAKA SHAKA, so that’s what I’m going with here.
This SHAKA SHAKA is soft, lightweight, and incredibly easy to wear.
We all care about performance, of course―but sometimes GORE-TEX feels a bit too stiff and serious. Right now, this kind of lightness just feels right.
You can layer it under a jacket, throw it over a feminine dress, or carry it with you for days when the weather’s all over the place. If it gets in the way, just tie it around your waist.
It’s the kind of outerwear that quietly earns its place in your wardrobe―a true standard you’ll keep coming back to.
