SUMMER STANDARDS
BLANC.. SUNGLASSES
The ultimate summer standard.
Designer Watanabe of〈BLANC..〉comes from an apparel background, which gives him a unique perspective―he approaches eyewear not just as a “tool,” but as an essential part of styling. That philosophy is what sets〈BLANC..〉apart from other eyewear brands.
Many of the frames feel effortlessly natural on the face―never too bold or overpowering. Go with your gut when choosing a pair; it’s hard to go wrong.
Even metal frames, which can often come across as cold, take on a softer look in his hands.
From frames in subtle, in-between hues to playful details at the temple ends, the signature touch of Watanabe’s craftsmanship is immediately recognizable.
Our annual〈BLANC..〉pop-up kicks off in early July. Special pieces will be available―don’t miss it!
COMESANDGOES Exclusive Cap
This COVERCHORD-exclusive cap was designed with the image of a movie protagonist wearing a sun-faded, sweat-stained, well-worn baseball cap.
Designer Ippo of COMESANDGOES and I often talk about films. Lately, I haven’t kept up with any new releases, so I keep dragging him into the same old movie conversations every time we meet.
The catch? Neither of us can remember the names of the actors, directors―or even the titles―so our talks quickly spiral into a full-on memory quiz. Honestly, if I don’t start watching new movies again soon, we might be stuck in this loop for the next 30 years.
Back to the cap―like with clothes and shoes, I’m the type who believes items truly become your own only after they’ve aged with you. This cap is no exception. The cotton has been pre-washed, giving it a broken-in look from day one, but it’s made to be worn hard and loved even more as it develops character. A movie character in a pristine cap? Never quite believable.
We originally considered an all-cotton build, but opted for a leather visor to enhance the aging process even further.
While leather caps are often associated with fall and winter, we’re breaking the mold by releasing this one in summer―when outfits tend to be simpler and a good cap can make all the difference.
Coming soon. Wear it year-round and make it your own.
MIYO OYABU Glassworks
There’s a warmth in Miyo Oyabu’s glasswork that feels completely at odds with the typical image of glass.
Air bubbles are purposefully left in, giving light a juicy, glowing clarity as it passes through. Each piece is shaped freely, without molds or strict formats―no two are exactly alike, even if they seem similar at first glance. It’s like a crossroads of individuality, where each encounter is unique.
In my kitchen, there’s a SPICA GLASS that’s been with me for over a decade. Worn in with daily use, it’s now covered in fine scratches, and its clarity has softened. But like a well-worn pair of jeans, it’s become something I can’t help but love.
At this point, it goes beyond just fitting comfortably in my hand―my fingers automatically find the same familiar grooves each time I reach for it. It’s the only glass I use for a shochu soda.
Oyabu-san, it’s about time we shared a proper toast again.
MERRELL JUNGLE MOC BREEZE
For those with young children, I think you’ll be nodding so hard your head might fall off―there’s simply no time to tie and untie laces every day.
When you’re trying to keep up with a child who never waits, slip-ons are non-negotiable.
Since you’ll inevitably be sprinting through the park at full speed, a snug fit around the opening and a narrow elastic panel that won’t easily slip off are crucial. And on weekends, I basically become a chauffeur, so I really appreciate the driving-shoe-style outsole that wraps up around the heel―it makes operating the pedals much easier.
The “Breeze” version refers to the mesh upper, which is super lightweight and ideal for summer. The placement of the MERRELL logo is also more subtle than the original Jungle Moc, which I personally love.
All in all, these shoes have become a legendary standard in my daily life. MERRELL, thank you―truly.

SUMMER STANDARDS
Baserange LINEN SERIES
Linen often brings to mind a mature, refined look―something elegant, yes, but maybe a little too “madame” for some. It’s clearly breathable, but can feel a bit too calm or classic to reach for easily.
Still, when summer heat takes over, resistance fades. And thankfully, the linen pieces from everyone’s favorite,
Baserange, are both cool in feel and effortless in style―making them the perfect warm-weather uniform.
The brand’s classic cami dress and long skirt feature timeless silhouettes that aren’t tied to trends.
With four seasonal color releases each year, waiting to see what shade drops next is part of the fun. This season’s soft beige is a subtle standout.
New tops are released irregularly, which means that even months apart, you might unexpectedly be able to build a full co-ord―a collector’s delight.
The fierce summer heat is on its way, and no matter how much we grumble, it won’t cool down. To stay as comfortable as possible, Baserange’s linen series is a summer standard―and firmly part of my A-team lineup.
19-69 FRAGRANCE
Back when I was in high school, fragrance basically meant department store perfumes―and with so few options, it felt like one in three people wore the exact same scent.
Fast forward to now, and niche fragrances are booming. More and more scent connoisseurs are seeking out their favorite perfumers or looking for something that feels uniquely theirs.
One such brand is 19-69, a culture-driven cosmetic label by Swedish artist Johan Bergelin. We began carrying it last year after being drawn in by its eye-catching, colorful packaging at a fragrance preview. One sniff and a quick read through the scent concepts―and we were sold.
At COVERCHORD, we change up our selection of 19-69 scents seasonally.
Finding a personal signature fragrance that shifts from spring–summer to fall–winter can be a refreshing new ritual.
Explore the world of 19-69, where every scent tells a story.

MAISON MARGIELA TABI BALLET FLATS
I first discovered Maison Martin Margiela in my late teens―drawn in by the striking, unconventional design of the iconic TABI boots I longed to own.
Fast forward to today, and it’s no exaggeration to say nearly all of my friends now own a pair. Once a cult favorite, the TABI has grown into a beloved staple.
Each season brings new iterations: side-gore styles, Mary Janes, mules, loafers and more.
But lately, my go-to has been the TABI Ballet, a silhouette that’s become the next classic after the boots. I do love a rounded ballet toe, but there’s something irresistibly charming about the subtle peek of a split toe under wide-leg pants.
They pair beautifully with tailored looks like a suit set, but work just as effortlessly with casual denim.
Socks? Absolutely―this uniquely bold design somehow fits seamlessly into just about any outfit.
Naturally, comfort is a given. And because they’re part of the brand’s ongoing lineup, there’s peace of mind in knowing you can always replace them if you wear them out.
Striking yet timeless, the TABI Ballet is that rare piece that blends seamlessly with personal style―without ever feeling ordinary.
Yoi Iniki EARRINGS

In my twenties, I used to think, “When I grow up, I’ll switch from silver to gold accessories.” But adulthood didn’t arrive with a clear signal―and I just kept wearing the same pieces I always had.
That changed when I discovered Yoi Iniki at COVERCHORD. Gradually, piece by piece, I began adding their jewelry to my collection. Now that every accessory I wear is by Yoi Iniki, it finally feels like I’ve found my signature style.
My absolute favorite is the HOOP E earrings―small hoops crafted in K18 yellow gold.
Simple at first glance, but with a quiet presence that feels intentional and refined. The volume, the proportions―everything is thoughtfully designed.
But what really sets them apart is the original fastening mechanism. It opens and closes so smoothly, and is so comfortable you forget you’re even wearing them. I never feel the urge to take them off―not when I sleep, not in the bath.
Their understated design also makes them easy to pair with other earrings if you have multiple piercings.
All of Yoi Iniki’s pieces have that same elegance and ease―something that seems to reflect the relaxed, grounded energy of designers Kiu and Yasei themselves.
There’s only so much words can do. To really understand what makes these special, you have to hold them in your hand. I hope you’ll come experience them in person.
