The long-awaited season for knitwear has arrived.
From fluffy and luxurious mohair to tightly woven rib knits, there's a variety of styles to explore, including polo shirts, cardigans, and vests.
To provide a fresh perspective on styling knitwear, we invited two selectors to COVERCHORD nakameguro. They had a look through the store and thoughtfully curated two favorite looks that include knitwear items that they want to wear this season.
We hope you'll find inspiration for your winter style.
Knit Style
by SEIKO HAYASHI
Our first selector is Seiko Hayashi, who serves as the CEO of the jewelry store, ‘atelier ST, CAT’.
She's famous for sharing the beauty regime for her flawlessly clear skin and Pilates-sculpted physique, plus her effortless and daring outfits with intricate styling.
Open-back knit meets outdoor style
This look is quite close to my everyday casual style.
The elegant, open-back design of the knit could do with a casual element, so I paired it with high-tech sneakers, sweatpants, and a fleece cap.
I enjoy adding a pop of color to a monochrome outfit.
I typically opt for sneakers and tend to choose clothing made from washable materials. I have children so functionality is really important to me.
Short and tight with double denim
I often wear clothing that shows a bit of skin. It's a way to create a balance in my usually casual outfits.
I tend to wear trousers, as I sometimes feel a bit self-conscious about wearing skirts in a feminine way. But this denim jacket had a masculine vibe which balances the outfit out.
I currently attend Pilates once a week. Unlike yoga, Pilates doesn't have set poses, so it allows me to focus more on my own body. I love to see the progress I make every week, it keeps me motivated to continue.
Seiko Hayashi

Knit Style
by SHIHO
The second selector is Shiho from the snack bar 'Shante' in Koenji.
She worked as a dental hygienist for 18 years before quitting her job to run Shante, managing 25 girls.
Her beauty, sense of style, and unpretentious, charming personality are what make her stand out as one of the most interesting Mama-sans out there.
Pastel colors for winter
I find this combination of light blue and purple incredibly cute.
During winter, the days get dark quickly, and people tend to wear darker tones. Which is why I want to wear clothing in these spring-like hues.
Layering textures in monotone
I like it when an outfit features the same color but in different materials.
The sheer and mohair tops have a feminine touch so I balanced it out with a handsome pair of pants. I think people associate me with dresses because I wear them a lot on Instagram but I like these kinds of slacks as well.
I’m not a very big drinker, but I do love working at night. It's fun to receive a good reaction from customers, just like on Instagram. I've had experiences working at places in Azabu and Roppongi, but it seems like Koenji suits me best (laughs).
Shiho
Born in Oita Prefecture. Works as the Mama-san of the snack bar ‘Shante’ in Koenji, as well as a model.
