The HAL Musui is iconic, for a a reason. It can do everything: stew, bake, steam, fry, and even cook rice.
I grew up without an electric rice cooker at home, so I'm used to using this to make rice every day.
It's just the right size to make the most delicious rice for me—not too much and not too little. I use 650cc of water for 3 cups of rice, soak the rice for around 30 minutes, then set the timer to 13 minutes.
Yep, 13 minutes. That's right, it cooks in just 13 minutes. It's incredibly fast.
Put it on high heat for about 5 minutes, until the lid rattles and steam starts coming out. When that happens, lower the heat and leave it until the timer goes off.
I start preparing quick side dishes right after the timer goes off. By the time the dishes are ready, the rice has been steamed just right, and it's perfect to eat.
I think of it as a rice-cooking pot that falls right in between a rice cooker and a regular pot. It's incredibly fast, and it guarantees deliciousness.
Of course, it's versatile for more than just cooking rice. It's simple, and that's what makes it great. Cook green beans with garlic, olive oil, and salt, and you'll find yourself looking up at the heavens, saying, "Is this how sweet vegetables are?"
It really brings out the potential of ingredients, especially vegetables.
It's also handy for deep frying and making braised dishes, but... there's a dilemma: using it for these purposes means I won't be able to use it for cooking the rice. Perhaps I should buy a second pot?
