It’s been a little over a year since I moved into my new home, and I’ve finally set up a dining table in the kitchen.

Being very cautious about everything, it’s taken me a while to get things together. While it’s satisfying to have the foundation of my dining space in place, there are still many unfinished areas in my home. Next on the list is the exposed kitchen paper that’s been bothering me. I just can’t leave it out in the open like that.

Then, I remembered the holder from FUTAGAMI. Made of solid brass, it’s perfect for growing alongside my relatively new home. And above all, its elegant presence is exactly to my taste.

It’s also incredibly easy to set up—just lift the weight and slide the paper in from the side. It’s a real lifesaver when I need to replace the paper in a hurry.

By the way, the photo shows the holder we’ve been using in our company kitchen for many years. It’s developed a lovely patina, turning dark with oxidation and even forming verdigris in spots from water exposure, giving it a truly unique character. Lately, I’ve been spending more time in the kitchen, so I decided to bring one into my home and watch it develop its own charm over the years.
