PERFECT FOR A FRESH START
HIROTA GLASS SOY SAUCE DISPENSER

For me, a comfortable lifestyle around food begins with one simple habit—refilling.
I don't mind having clothes scattered on the floor, but for some reason, I can’t stand a messy dining table.
When unrelated items like wallets, car keys, or flyers are left there, it really bothers me.
I also have a small obsession: I prefer to transfer condiments and food items into separate containers whenever possible.
For example, salt and pepper go into mills or jars, drinks into a pitcher with just the right amount, and butter into a butter dish.
And when it comes to soy sauce—a key ingredient in Japanese cuisine—it absolutely deserves its own proper dispenser.
I know there are many convenient soy sauce bottles these days that can be placed directly on the table.
They’re compact and designed to keep the contents fresh without exposure to air—which is great!
But personally, I don’t like how those plastic bottles look. They bring too much of a “practical” feeling and disrupt the atmosphere of the table.
Spring is a good time to refresh everyday tools, even if you’re not moving.
I recently brought home the Original Ground Rim Soy Sauce Dispenser from Hirota Glass.
The soft greenish glass and the hand-ground spout combine beauty and function in a truly refined product.
The habit of “refilling” may seem like an unnecessary step, but I believe this kind of intentional act adds richness to daily life.
I often tease my housemate for refilling shampoo bottles in the bathroom—“what a waste of effort,” I think.
But when I’m carefully pouring soy sauce into a dispenser, I’m sure they’re thinking the exact same thing about me.
