It's hard to believe that July is already coming to an end. According to the calendar, we’re currently in the period called "Taisho," meaning "Major Heat," and next week we'll be entering "Risshu," marking the beginning of autumn. It's a bit early to be talking about autumn just as summer is really getting started (laughs).

The apparel industry, including us at nonnative, is always ahead of the game, and we're already kicking off the autumn/winter season.

We're starting with two items that quickly convey this season's theme, OVERLAND ESCAPE: a T-shirt and a cap featuring the logo. This season's collection is heavily influenced by '90s outdoor and American casual styles. Designer Mr. Fujii mentioned that many people might find it nostalgic.
As someone in my 30s, I grew up surrounded by revivals of '80s styles and the Urahara generation trends. Honestly, while I can appreciate the retro vibes and the "cool" factor of those eras, I don't have any real sense of nostalgia for them because I didn’t experience them firsthand. However, when it comes to the '90s, I was hitting my formative years and starting to notice the stylish older guys and their cool gear. When I was in college, there was an enormous boom in outdoor gear. Incorporating outdoor elements into casual wear was the pinnacle of style. We all wanted to be featured in magazine snapshots, proudly sporting our outdoor brand backpacks as we roamed the streets.

This collection not only pays homage to those times but also incorporates modern, practical features typical of nonnative.
