The heroine from that drama I watched as a kid. The rubber pirate captain from that famous manga. The legendary stylists in magazines and stores. The effortlessly cool guys you notice in the city. There’s one thing they all seem to have in common: a straw hat perched on their head, naturally but with a strong presence. That’s the charm of a straw hat.

I remember being in middle school, inspired by that same manga character, wearing a straw hat on a school trip—tracksuit and all. Looking back now, it’s a little embarrassing.
