AYAME was founded in 2010 in Fukui City, the home of the Japanese eyewear industry. The ayame (Japanese Iris flower) is the symbol of Fukui and when the word is broken down it translates to the color "AYA" and eye "ME". One by one, each frame is carefully hand-shaped and polished by experienced and skilled craftsmen.
