This Kohiki mug is carefully crafted by ceramist Tokuro Takimoto in Tsuno, a nature-rich town in the Miyazaki Prefecture. Kohiki is a type of pottery introduced to Japan from Korea and uses an inlay technique where the pattern is carved and white and wood ash glaze is applied and baked. A mug ideal for daily use with a simple pattern that can be paired with both Japanese and Western styles.

Wanting to be immersed in nature, TOKURO TAKIMOTO set up his ceramics studio in rural Miyagi prefecture in 2011. With a focus on form and texture, Takimoto’s pieces are light and functional, and designed to fit seamlessly into the user’s daily life.
