Plate by Shoji Watanabe, an artist working between Japan and Los Angeles, in rustic yet carefully designed colors, its character shaped by the different clays and glazes he uses in each place.

Shoji Watanabe is a ceramic artist based in Japan and the United States. He moved to the U.S. at 18 and studied under ceramicist Adrian Saxe. Working with glazes adapted from those made in Los Angeles in the 1960s and 70s, he creates pieces with a gentle, retro feel.
