最近、雨の日が増えてきて、そろそろ梅雨かなと感じる季節になってきました。Rainy days are starting to become more common lately, which means it’s almost rainy season.
こういう時期に一番悩むのがシューズですが、私は〈PLASTICANA〉を履くようになってから、その悩みがかなり減りました。Around this time of year, I end up reaching for PLASTICANA a lot.
〈PLASTICANA〉は、PVCとヘンプをミックスしたフランス発のエコ素材シューズで、もともとはガーデニング用として作られたそうです。最近ではヨーロッパや韓国を中心に、ファッションアイテムとしてもよく見かけるようになりました。Originally made in France as gardening shoes, they use a soft rubber-like material blended with hemp.
私も去年の夏からかなりの頻度で履いていますが、カジュアルにもきれいめにも合わせやすく、ローファー感覚で使えるのが魅力です。特にショーツやスカートに、ソックスを合わせるスタイリングが気に入っています。I’ve been wearing them regularly since last summer because they work easily with both casual and cleaner styling. They almost feel like loafers, and I especially like wearing them with shorts or skirts and socks.
柔らかいラバー素材なので履き心地は良いのですが、サイズ感はやや難しめです。個人的にはワンサイズ下げるくらいがちょうど良い気がします。私は普段23～23.5cmで、35サイズを選んでいますが、少し余裕があるのでインソールで調整して履いています。The soft material makes them comfortable, though the sizing runs slightly large. I usually wear 23–23.5cm and chose size 35 with insoles.
雨の日でも晴れの日でも、自然と手が伸びる一足。この夏もかなり活躍してくれそうです。Easy to wear on both rainy and sunny days, they’re the kind of shoes I keep coming back to every summer.
