A special collaboration between COVERCHORD and KAPTAIN SUNSHINE arrives this season.

Founded in 2013 by Shinsuke Kojima, KAPTAIN SUNSHINE is a menswear brand defined by rich textures from premium materials and precise construction by Japanese factories. Rooted in traditional menswear and fieldwear influences, the brand creates pieces that blend seamlessly into everyday life while evoking a sense of travel.

This spring’s exclusive capsule collection balances lightness with a calm, refined tone, expressing a mature and composed mood. By using high-quality natural materials, each piece carries a quiet elegance.
Building on the well-received short-length jacket setup from last autumn and winter, the collection refines the design with carefully selected materials for a lighter, more refined finish.

At the center is the WOOL POPLIN FIELD JACKET, a special blouson designed exclusively for this project.
Made from SUPER180’s wool poplin, it offers a smooth touch, subtle sheen, and a crisp, breathable feel for a lightweight yet sophisticated finish.

The lineup also includes the WOOL POPLIN SHOECUT EASY PANTS, based on a special order EASY SLACKS model created for COVERCHORD.
Crafted from the same material as the jacket, they balance comfort with an elegant appearance. Available in INK BLACK and ESPRESSO, the pieces can be worn as a set or styled individually.
As an inner layer, the HARD TWISTED STRIPE JERSEY HALF-SLEEVE TEE is developed with attention to everything from fabric dyeing to stripe composition.

The fine-pitch stripes in three shades of black create a minimal yet nuanced expression, while the dry touch adds both lightness and refinement.

A special blouson designed exclusively for this project, created with the idea of “a piece you truly want right now.”
Based on the special order model developed for AW 2025, it has been reworked with a focus on actual wear, bringing a lighter feel and a more composed tone suited for spring and summer.
The collar and sleeve lining are unified in the same material, and the chin strap has been removed for a more minimal and refined look.
Crafted from SUPER180’s wool poplin, the fabric offers a smooth touch, subtle sheen, and a crisp, breathable feel, resulting in a lightweight yet sophisticated finish.
The short-length silhouette is paired with a relaxed body and armholes, allowing for versatile styling across a range of inner layers.
Finished in calm tones of INK BLACK and ESPRESSO, it transitions seamlessly across seasons.
While rooted in a casual design, it brings a sense of quiet elegance simply by throwing it on.

Based on the EASY SLACKS released in AW 2022, considered by COVERCHORD as a timeless classic, this pair is reworked for the season.
Crafted from premium SUPER180’s wool poplin, the fabric offers a smooth touch, subtle sheen, and a crisp, breathable feel, creating a light and elegant drape. Remarkably lightweight and soft against the skin for wool, it remains comfortable even in warmer seasons.
While retaining the comfort of easy pants, the gently flared shoecut silhouette brings a refined look similar to classic slacks.
Finished in calm tones of INK BLACK and ESPRESSO, it pairs effortlessly with everything from leather shoes to sneakers and sandals.A minimal design that highlights the quality of the material and the drape of the fabric.

A fine-pitch striped T-shirt with subtle nuance within a minimal design.
Based on the brand’s signature HARD TWISTED STRIPE JERSEY HALF-SLEEVE TEE released each spring and summer, this version features an exclusive colorway.
A FADE BLACK body is paired with stripes in two tonal shades of black, creating a cohesive, understated look with depth.
The precisely arranged pitch and delicate color balance give it a quiet yet distinct presence.
Crafted from high-twisted cotton jersey, the fabric offers a dry touch and a lightweight feel, remaining comfortable even in peak summer. Easy to style with jackets and pants, it works naturally on its own or as a layering piece.
