COVERCHORD
BUYER’S VOICE

ROA plays a key role in today’s gorpcore scene, where outdoor functionality blends naturally into everyday city style.
It is one of the early brands that brought attention to the idea of outdoor footwear that is both highly technical and visually refined, paving the way for what we now often see in both mountain and urban settings.

The brand is based in Italy and carries on the tradition of its many distinguished footwear factories.
Every model is carefully created from the last up, ensuring thoughtful construction and quality. ROA began with performance mountaineering boots, and that technical foundation continues to shape the brand’s identity today.

Through a persistent pursuit of modern design and a strong sense of what is next, ROA has expanded from boots into sneaker styles and has steadily built its presence within fashion culture.

European sophistication can be felt in the materials and color palettes, paired with a distinctive sensibility in the way color accents are placed. Comfort is equally impressive. Altogether, the balance feels very much in line with the COVERCHORD approach to style.

Always grounded in footwear and continuously evolving with the times, ROA is a brand that adapts with confidence and creativity.
We are very excited to see how it continues to grow in the seasons ahead.

BUYER’S VOICE

SATISFY is a running apparel brand based in Paris, France.
It was one of the first to bring together running wear and street style in a natural way, staying focused on performance while still looking fashionable.

One of the most interesting things about the brand is how it uses holes like those on vintage T shirts as part of the design.
They look casual at first, but each hole is placed thoughtfully where the body releases heat, helping air flow through the garment.
The pieces make a strong visual impression while remaining highly functional. It is design that looks cool because it works well, and that idea is at the heart of SATISFY.

The brand is also very good at building a clear creative world.
The clothing feels right when running, but also blends in easily with everyday outfits, which gives each piece a certain versatility and personality.

BUYER’S VOICE

J.L-A.L has a strong presence within the movement that has emerged from gorpcore.
The brand carries the functionality of outdoor wear while fitting naturally into both directional fashion and casual select styles. Its appeal is in this unique balance that does not fully belong to any single category.

The brand has a structured and design driven look, and while that might feel unexpected within the COVERCHORD lineup at first glance, we intentionally introduce these pieces to be enjoyed in simple everyday outfits where their character truly stands out.

Take the SINH SHELL JACKET for example. It features a double zipper construction yet still achieves a remarkably minimal appearance when worn. It balances bold ideas with refined execution, a level of completion that has drawn strong interest from shops around the world.

When seeing the collection in Paris, the precise cutting, thoughtful material selections, and even the use of sound in the presentation expressed a powerful commitment to creativity.
The brand conveys a deep passion for expression through every detail.

HYKE

HYKE is a fashion brand designed by Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode.
Founded in 1998 under the name “green,” it was renamed HYKE starting from the Fall Winter 2013 collection.

The brand works under the concept “HERITAGE AND EVOLUTION,” evolving clothing history and tradition through its own sensibility and vision. Rather than setting seasonal themes, HYKE draws inspiration from existing garments such as vintage and military wear, reconstructing timeless items with a modern point of view.

COVERCHORD
BUYER’S VOICE

HYKE is a brand I feel personally attached to.
I remember seeing designers Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode working on their previous label “green” in real time.

During the height of the Urahara era, when everything was driven by big logos, they went in the opposite direction. They removed logos, focused on basics, and added subtle twists to the design. Even back then, I sensed that the two of them had a completely different sensibility compared to others.

I also admire the honesty behind their decisions, such as pausing the brand when they became parents and choosing not to run their own store. That sense of humanity and sincerity lies at the core of everything they create, and it is one of the things I love most about their work.

With HYKE, that approach remains the same.
There is always a clever and refined detail hidden within the basics. They take timeless items and elevate them into something structured and modern.
They do not pursue loud collaborations for the sake of attention. Instead, they focus on creating pieces that truly deserve to exist. I respect that deeply.

Even the brand name, combining the initials of their two children, conveys a warmth and quiet strength.
Simple, modern, essential. Their balance has always felt incredibly well judged.

HYKE understands the current moment but continues evolving at its own pace. That attitude, along with their design, is why I have respected this brand for so long and will continue to do so.

COVERCHORD
BUYER’S VOICE

nante is a brand that is available only at COVERCHORD.

At first glance the items look simple, but they turn “something that seems like it should exist but does not” into reality.
They do not imitate standard specifications, and the pieces are more functional than they appear. They propose designs and silhouettes based on human movement, with details that solve small everyday frustrations, which is very appealing.

The word “standard” is now used widely everywhere. However, rather than following trends, nante clearly expresses their own idea of a “standard” with a firm foundation. Their approach aligns with COVERCHORD and is something I strongly relate to.

I also like how they value “playfulness” and “space.”
This comes through in how they communicate on Instagram as well, where you can feel the importance they place on genuine words and emotions.
Including these human elements, nante is a brand I want to introduce with real enthusiasm.

COVERCHORD
BUYER’S VOICE

They originally made custom made clothing to bring out each person’s individual charm, which left a strong impression on me.
It truly feels like a brand created to highlight the wearer. Starting from the Spring Summer 2025 season, they began selling through select shops and are still a new presence in the market.

I have always liked lace materials, and when I first encountered this brand, it felt very close to love at first sight.

What is great about this brand is how they make lace feel not too sweet, yet still feminine and mature. It is delicate but easy to incorporate into everyday life.
I wear the STRETCH LACE LONG SLEEVE TEE myself, and it is very light, comfortable, and great for layering.

The two designers are very close friends, and they said that the island of Burano, known as the island of lace in the Venetian Lagoon, became the starting point for the brand.
Their commitment to pursuing what they love and continuing the brand in that spirit is wonderful.

The brand’s tagline is with love that never falters.
The hangtag featuring the lily of the valley flower is memorable, and you can feel how much love is poured into every detail.

It is a warm brand that is easy for anyone to pick up, while allowing each person to feel their own sense of self.

BUYER’S VOICE

TOURNON. is a new brand that has just begun.
The world view and color palette feel fresh, and when I first saw the collection at the exhibition, it left a strong impression.

Designer Risa Taniguchi has many years of experience working in design and is especially skilled in French inspired style.
She clearly reflects her own taste in the collection, creating timeless pieces that are not influenced by trends.

The colors and designs stand out, yet they blend into everyday life and can be worn for a long time.
There is a strong focus on fabrics, and although the prices are not inexpensive, the quality and materials fully justify them.

It is a brand with a modern balance: refined and high quality, yet naturally fitting into daily life.

pillings

pillings is a hand knit brand started in 2014 by designer Ryota Murakami and his mother Chiaki Murakami.
The brand changed its name to pillings in 2020 and began a new phase of activity.

With the concept of “conveying the love for craftsmanship and its background through creativity,” the brand presents collections focused on hand knits created together with Japanese knitting artisans.

The name pillings comes from the word “pilling,” meaning fuzz balls on knitwear, with an “s” added to make it plural.
It expresses the desire to design the tenderness and environment that are born from relationships like those small tufts of yarn.

In recent years, pillings was selected as a semifinalist for the LVMH Prize, which supports and fosters young fashion designers, and has been gaining international attention as a promising knitwear brand.

COVERCHORD
BUYER’S VOICE

Designer Ryota Murakami has memories of the knitwear his mother made for him as a child, and from that early experience, he creates knits that value the warmth of handcraft.

When I first saw the collection, I was impressed by the strong design quality. After holding the pieces in my hands and seeing the excellent construction, I felt confident in the decision to begin carrying the brand.

The brand’s signature fulling series shrinks the knit through washing, allowing the difference in shrinkage rates to naturally bring the lining to the surface.
Even the shrinkage is precisely calculated, showing that the garments are made with intention rather than chance.

Each piece also comes with a tag featuring the name of the knitter, which conveys the sincerity behind the craftsmanship.

The pieces fit naturally with COVERCHORD’s style and are recommended both for those who want to dress in a more directional way and those who prefer a relaxed look.
I purchased the FULLING VEST this time. Since there is no excessive decoration, it layers easily and can even be worn over a jacket.

It is a brand that brings a sense of excitement into everyday life while still allowing you to feel the warmth of handcraft.
