MIYO OYABU Solo Exhibition Opens Today!

Starting today, COVERCHORD Nakameguro presents Miyo Oyabu’s first solo exhibition in three years.
The artist will also be in-store on the opening day. We truly appreciate her making the trip despite the typhoon.

This exhibition brings together an exceptional range of colors, including exclusive brown glass pieces created especially for COVERCHORD.
The staff who helped with everything from unpacking to installation prepared the exhibition with great excitement.
I have had my eye on the stemmed glasses and plates for some time.
We hope the exhibition will be enjoyed not only by COVERCHORD customers, but also by everyone who already admires Oyabu’s work.

For this occasion, we also asked her to create exclusive brown glass pieces.
Although brown can often feel heavy, these pieces have a soft, fluid quality, with the color gradually deepening toward the base. The result is a distinctive expression that feels true to Oyabu’s work.
While the color is fresh compared with her previous pieces, it still blends naturally into a wide range of dishes and spaces, with a gentle but clear presence.

Just as every person has their own character, each of Oyabu’s pieces has its own unique expression.
