I love when I wear something so much that they get that worn-in look.
These shoes are definitely one of those items.
I’ve been a fan of these shoes since I was 18 and I’m currently on my second pair. I obviously wore them on rainy days, but over time, I found myself wearing them on sunny days too.
I wore my first pair until the suede on the sides completely wore off.
I've used these shoes for skateboarding and even once in a 3x3 basketball game at Yoyogi Park, where I forgot my basketball shoes and played in these instead. The Vibram sole proved its excellence in handling intense movements during that game. The specs are impeccable.
Now, after 10 years since that first day I put them on, they still feature heavily in my rotation, their place on the roster is assured.
"There are wonderful places that you can be taken to by wearing great shoes." It reminds me of the a scene when Shizuka Todo said this in Hanadan (Boys Over Flowers). I believe these shoes deserve such sentiments.
