For some reason, I really like clothing that has puckered seams. There’s something about the texture, which seems to evolve through daily wear and washing, that really attracts me to it.

This shirt jacket, for example, has abundant puckering on the front and sleeves. The fabric is subtly shrunk by using cotton tape for the lining piping – a sophisticated technique. It means that it is designed specifically to gain character through use and time. And it's not just about how it looks; it's thanks to this that the sleeves fall nicely and have a three-dimensional structure. Though synthetic fabric shirts often feel flat, once you slip this one on, you'll undoubtedly notice the difference.

Puckering is really a distortion that was common in old workwear. It occurs when stitching is careless or rushed, driven by mass production priorities. So to find use in this fault and intentionally incorporate it, especially with high-quality tussah fabric is interesting to me. I feel the weight of the craftsmanship that goes into it every time I wear it.
