Lately, there's been a remarkable change in my body shape.
Vintage pants I diligently collected in my 20s are now becoming impossible to wear. The '66 early model, the M-45, the pre-dyed black... all of them.
In my school days, from elementary through to college, my slender physique was the one thing I was proud of, always being told to "eat more”.
Despite countless warnings from my seniors that "things will change when you turn 30," I confidently believed I would be an exception. However, reality has proven otherwise.
Much like all those other pants I can no longer wear, my M-47 pants have fallen victim too.

In my quest for cargo pants that fit, I stumbled upon the COTTON SERGE 47 PANTS from blurhms ROOTSTOCK.
Based on the French Army's M-47, they’re updated to a contemporary silhouette, with the most distinctive feature being the tapered cut that adds a touch of elegance to the roomy silhouette, with details like the adjustable hem and flap pockets with gussets remaining intact.
The fabric is a slightly stiff and thick cotton serge material. The pair I bought two years ago, worn without reservation, now boasts a well-worn yet incredibly comfortable texture.
A handy sub-pocket inside the front pocket is perfect for securely stashing my smartphone, and is a common feature in all blurhms’ pants – a practicality I appreciate whether cycling or driving.

I've been heavily rotating these pants for the past two years, even adding a BLACK pair last year.
These are the pants I want to keep accompanying me into the future.
