t-shirt & socks
The 2024 spring/summer collection of OZISM features materials incorporating washi, the traditional Japanese paper, with garments and accessories dyed with plants, including the collaboration with nonnative.
This collection particularly emphasizes a sense of "WA" or Japanese harmony.
This week, we're highlighting key items from the collection, including T-shirts featuring scenes from two iconic films by director Yasujirō Ozu, Ozu's works often depict the everyday lives of ordinary families and the essential relationships within them.
The themes of visiting children who live in Tokyo, each with their own lives and the subtle loneliness felt by parents, resonate with anyone.
Thinking of my father, who loves Western films but may not have seen Ozu's works, I consider bringing him something like socks.
The texture of washi material is dry and has a unique firmness, making it comfortable for daily wear due to its excellent breathability and lightweight feel.
Although it's a bit early, I plan to return home with some comfortable daily wear, perhaps also as a Father's Day gift, to convey a silent "thank you as always" atmosphere without explicitly saying it.
