The ICE PACK Series: A Lifesaver in Last Summer's Record Heat
Last summer saw record-breaking heat waves, and the ICE PACK series was a real lifesaver during those insanely hot days.
The first time I saw it at an exhibition, it caught everyone's attention. The designer of nonnative, Mr. Fujii, described it as gear for running in the hills of Hayama. Despite my aversion to long-distance running (I didn’t play defense in high school soccer), I ordered it simply because it was popular. That summer, it became my go-to companion every day.
I frequently wore it before and after swimming in the sea. The special nylon blend has a cool touch, feeling smooth and breathable against the skin. Though the material is sporty, the unique nonnative balance makes it fit well in urban settings too. I often went straight from the beach to the city without changing. It dries quickly, so hanging it out at night meant it was ready to wear again by morning, naturally increasing its usage. Mr. Fujii even remarked, "You’re always wearing that," which as a shop employee, I'm not sure if it was good or bad (probably the latter) [laughs].
I look forward to wearing it a lot again this year without overwearing it!
