Long ago, KAPTAIN SUNSHINE created a masterpiece with BARBOUR called the BIG TRANSPORTER.

While short-length outerwear has since become common, at the time pieces this cropped were rare, and I remember jumping at the chance to own one.

Beyond the length, its standout features were the oversized body and extra-wide armholes, which allowed it to be thrown on over virtually anything.

In other words, limitless layering. Perfect for winters in the city where the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors can be extreme. That coat became my go-to every winter back then.

Fast forward to 2025, and it has been revived in an exceptional wool serge fabric. More than just a reissue, the piece has been updated with leather details at key points.

It will be released this fall together with easy pants made from the same fabric.

Thank you, Kojima-san. I plan to pile on layers once again and make it through this winter.
