Exploring the Yatsugatake Mountains
with Rab's TALUS 5 PANEL CAP

3:00 AM.
I woke up to the sound of the man next to me snoring loudly.
I barely slept last night, I thought as I got out of bed and started getting ready.
Careful not to wake anyone, I quietly packed my things and stepped outside the mountain hut.
It was still pitch-black.
The wind had completely died down, leaving an eerie stillness that felt nothing like the daytime.
Guided only by my headlamp, I carefully made my way up the rugged, rocky trail. One wrong step, and there would be no one to help me.
Why am I even climbing this mountain? The thought crossed my mind again and again. But all I could do was keep moving forward.
5:00 AM.
By the time I finally reached the summit, the sky was beginning to brighten. A warm orange glow slowly spread across the horizon.
I was standing at the summit of Mt.
Higashi-Tengu in the Yatsugatake Mountains, 2,640 meters above sea level.
The temperature had dropped to nearly 0°C.
As the wind began to pick up, I pulled my Rab TALUS 5 PANEL CAP down a little tighter. No need to worry about it blowing away.
The cold wind brushed against my cheeks.
Still, I couldn't take my eyes off the rising sun.
