The name ASICS is an acronym for the Latin phrase “anima sana in corpore sano, " meaning “healthy soul in a healthy body”. The brand began in 1949 by manufacturing basketball shoes, and soon widened their range to include top-performing running shoes, sportswear, and sporting equipment.
