Ceramicist Masato Akutsu crafts his wares in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, one of Japan’s traditional ceramic hubs. Harnessing production techniques gleaned from his father, Tadao Akutusu, the second-generation ceramicist’s works are renowned for their refined, modern simplicity.
