Tadao Akutsu established his ceramics studio in the renowned Japanese ceramics town of Mashiko in 1975. Retaining the muted hues and soft textures of traditional Mashiko-Yaki pottery, his works are characterized by a combination of sophisticated forms and beautiful glaze coloring. He is currently working together with his son, second-generation ceramicist Masato Akutsu.
