Alipus San Juan is a craft mezcal produced using traditional methods at a distillery in the San Juan region of Mexico. It is made from agave grown in white, clay-like soil that contains rocks. The mezcal has a refreshing and vibrant flavor, reminiscent of fruit brandy.

Los Danzantes, who introduced mezcal to the West, founded ALIPUS in 1999 to serve as a marketplace for family-run craft distilleries. Selective small producers were closely worked with in order to boost Oaxaca's rural economy by supporting the production and selling of handcrafted mezcal.
