GATO MIKIO SHOUTEN was originally founded in 1908 in the town of Yamanaka Onsen in Ishikawa Prefecture. It dedicates itself to preserving traditional processes to create authentic and long-lasting lacquerware pieces while pursuing functionality with contemporary artistry. It has won numerous design awards and has established their laboratory to pass down their expertise to future generations.
