Itaru Moriyama is a ceramic artist from Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture. After nine years of studying Amakusa ceramics in his hometown, he relocated to Spain to continue his training. After returning to Japan, he trained under renowned ceramicist Teppei Ono before opening his studio in 2014. Using mainly raw materials from Amakusa, he seeks to create vessels that harmonize with food.
