This round bowl by Hanako Sakashita from Mashiko, Tochigi, use the "neriage" (marbled ware) technique, featuring beautiful geometric patterns and soft colors created by layering different clays.

A graduate of the prestigious Musashino Art University, ceramicist Hanako Sakashita established her studio in the renowned Japanese ceramics town of Mashiko in 2011. Drawing influence from traditional Japanese textiles, Sakashita employs ‘neriage’ production techniques to create her intricately patterned pieces.
