TOKURO TAKIMOTO ELLIPSE BOWL SMALL

This small oval bowl is carefully crafted by ceramist Tokuro Takimoto in Tsuno, Japan. Takimoto uses Kohiki, an inlay technique where the pattern is carved, and white and wood ash glaze is applied and baked to create the pattern on the interior trim of the bowl. The simple pattern can be paired with both Japanese and Western styles, and the durable nature of the bowl is ideal for everyday use.

Coverchord commissioned 8 artists to create with the theme of "white" for the "White Vessel" exhibition; the white colorway is Tokuro Takimoto's take on the theme.

Wanting to be immersed in nature, TOKURO TAKIMOTO set up his ceramics studio in rural Miyagi prefecture in 2011. With a focus on form and texture, Takimoto’s pieces are light and functional, and designed to fit seamlessly into the user’s daily life.
