僕の好きなアメリカ映画には、高確率で似たスタイリングの人物が登場します。There’s a certain style that always shows up in the American movies I love.
ボーダーTシャツに、ワークパンツかデニムを緩く合わせる感じ。A striped T-shirt with loose work pants or faded denim. クルージングやサイクリングする時には、デイパックを限界までギュッと上に絞って背負う。A daypack pulled tight and worn high on the back while cruising around or riding a bike.
僕の中では教科書のようなスタイリング。For me, that’s the classic look.
20歳前後の僕は、当時毎日そんな格好をして、原宿までチャリンコ爆裂立ち漕ぎで、代々木公園脇の地獄の坂道を駆け上がり日々出勤してました。When I was around twenty, I dressed like that every day, standing on the pedals and riding hard up the hill beside Yoyogi Park on my way to work in Harajuku.
そんな思い入れのあるアイテムたちが今も変わらず大好きで、色味、サイズ感、その他細部を今の気分に変換して、〈Unlikely〉に別注作成を依頼しました。アメリカ古着がベースだけど、ありそうでないアイテムたちです。I still love those kinds of pieces, so for this collaboration I asked to update the colors, sizing, and details to fit my current mood. Inspired by vintage American clothing, but with a balance that feels familiar yet slightly different.
〈Unlikely〉ならではの素材や加工も相まって、大人の雰囲気すら漂う、とても素敵な仕上がりで大満足です。単品使いでも、大活躍間違いなし。Combined with Unlikely’s unique fabrics and processing, the collection ended up with a relaxed but refined atmosphere that I’m really happy with. Every piece works great on its own too.
