1919年の創業以来、靴づくりだけでなく自社のシューズに用いるラバーソールの製造まで手がけてきた、フランスのシューズメーカー〈Paraboot〉。Founded in 1919, French shoemaker Paraboot has long handled not only the production of its footwear, but also the manufacture of the rubber soles used in its own shoes. フランスを代表するシューズブランドであり国民靴とも称される〈Paraboot〉と、〈nonnative〉によるチームアップが4年ぶりに再び実現した。Regarded as one of France’s leading footwear brands and something of a national institution, Paraboot reunites with nonnative for the first time in four years.
今回ベースモデルに選んだのは、1990年代にフランスで人気を博し、近年待望の復刻を果たした「BRIAC」。For this collaboration, the two brands selected the BRIAC as the base model, a style that gained popularity in France in the 1990s and made its long-awaited return in recent years. 〈Paraboot〉を代表する「BARTH」や「MALO」と同じく、フランス語で“船”意味する「BATEAUX」コレクションに属し、デッキシューズのディテールを取り入れたモカシンシューズである。Like Paraboot signatures such as the BARTH and MALO, the BRIAC belongs to the BATEAUX collection, named after the French word for “boat,” and is a moccasin-style shoe incorporating details from classic deck shoes.
柔軟な履き心地を生むマッケイ製法と、存在感のある「JANNU SOLE」を備えた「BRIAC」に、マテリアルとカラーのチョイスにより〈nonnative〉のエッセンスを加えた。Built with McKay construction for a flexible feel and the distinctive JANNU SOLE, the BRIAC is given a distinctly nonnative character through its choice of materials and colors. アッパーにはチャコールグレーのスウェードを採用し、グレーのレザーレースとマットシルバーのアイレットを組み合わせ、ブラックのアウトソールへとつなげた。The upper is crafted from charcoal gray suede, paired with gray leather laces and matte silver eyelets, and finished with a black outsole. チャコール、グレー、シルバー、ブラック。それぞれの色が静かに重なり合うことで、単調なモノトーンとは異なる、奥行きのある表情を生み出している。Charcoal, gray, silver, and black quietly layer together to create a sense of depth beyond a simple monochrome palette.
ベースモデルへのリスペクトを込め、コラボレーションを示すディテールはあえて控えめに。Out of respect for the original model, details that signal the collaboration have been kept intentionally understated. フットベッドに施した「Paraboot for nonnative」のエンボスロゴが、特別な一足の証を静かに主張している。An embossed “Paraboot for nonnative” logo on the footbed serves as a subtle mark of this special edition.
