COVERCHORD is releasing a special capsule collection, “Forever Young,” created in collaboration with Unlikely.
The lineup consists of four exclusive pieces: an MA-1 jacket, knitwear, denim, and a backpack.
This marks the very first exclusive capsule produced by Unlikely.
Unlikely, led by Creative Director Shinsuke Nakata, launched in 2023. The brand embodies the spirit of “UNLIKELY” ― a playful, contrarian approach expressed through products that reinterpret American uniforms across eras, editing functional details into modern forms with a pop sensibility.
The concept behind this capsule reflects a familiar feeling:
“The clothes we’ve loved since childhood. Even as adults, we keep reaching for the same kind of pieces.”
Inspired by items that have always felt close, the collection blends timeless basics with Unlikely’s signature “unlikely” twist, transforming them into something truly unique.
The collection title, “Forever Young,” draws inspiration from a well-known song written by a legendary musician for his son.
It expresses the hope that these pieces will be cherished across ages and passed from one generation to the next.
Ahead of the official release on Saturday, December 20, a launch event will be held at COVERCHORD Nakameguro on Friday, December 19 at 18:00.
Director Shinsuke Nakata will be in-store, and Nakameguro-exclusive items will be available for early purchase.

UNLIKELY REVERSIBLE MA-1
for COVERCHORD
Based on the inline “UNLIKELY REVERSIBLE MA-1,” this exclusive version is produced in an OLIVE colorway.
While drawing inspiration from the familiar MA-1, the piece is infused with Unlikely’s characteristic twist, resulting in a jacket that feels both classic and completely new.
Attention was given to the color balance of every element ― the outer shell, lining, and ribbing. To capture the worn in feel of vintage pieces, the silhouette is designed with a relaxed width and a slightly shorter length.
The reversible design is another highlight.
Side A keeps the classic MA-1 look in velveteen, while Side B uses the familiar MA-1 lining with added hand warmer pockets for true two-way wear.

UNLIKELY FAIR ISLE “DUCK”
for COVERCHORD
This Fair Isle sweater features a central pattern inspired by the sky, clouds, forests, ducks, and flowers.
While the inline version uses a “blue sky” palette, this capsule shifts to a “sunset sky” colorway for a more nostalgic feel.
The colors were rebuilt from scratch so the sweater works both on its own and layered.
Balancing the playful motif with the classic look of Fair Isle, the result is a piece that feels distinctly Unlikely.

UNLIKELY TIME TRAVEL JEAN WIDE DENIM
for COVERCHORD
Based on the UNLIKELY TIME TRAVEL JEAN WIDE GRAY DENIM, this exclusive model introduces the first BLACK colorway in the wide silhouette.
A special treatment gives the denim the look of being lightly worn and washed, creating a natural fade that can deepen over time.
The stitch color and subtle fading recall the feel of 1990s overdyed jeans.

Based on the inline UNLIKELY EQUIPMENT 2DAY BACK PACK, this exclusive model is redesigned in a compact 1DAY size.
It has the classic look of a 1970s daypack, and the CHARCOAL color is being released for the first time in this collaboration.
While keeping the functional details such as the PC sleeve and multi pockets, the size has been refined to match COVERCHORD’s idea of an ideal everyday backpack.

at COVERCHORD Nakameguro
On Friday, December 19 at 18:00, COVERCHORD Nakameguro will host a launch event to celebrate the release of Unlikely’s exclusive capsule collection, “Forever Young.”
Nakameguro-exclusive items will be available for early purchase.
Unlikely Director Shinsuke Nakata will be present in-store, and customers who purchase items will receive a novelty gift on a first-come, first-served basis.
Free drinks will also be provided. We hope you’ll join us and be among the first to pick up the exclusive pieces.

I selected items that I have loved consistently from childhood through my student years and even now. The COVERCHORD team reworked them with fresh color palettes and styling that feel incredibly new today.
In the end, the pieces that struck us when we were young never lose their impact. No matter how much time passes, they always look fresh and beautiful.
I truly feel we’ve created a “Forever Young” collection.
