NAOKI KANAZAWA
oobachi
Hi, this is Fukami, a former member of ROOTS to BRANCHES. As I write this, I fondly remember working with various artisans and their creations.
Back then, ROOTS was located where the current Nonnative shop stands, and it was much smaller than the present COVERCHORD NAKAMEGURO.
Whenever new stock arrived from artists, the tiny register area would be filled with cardboard and newspapers, creating a omatsuri atmosphere. There were countless little episodes, like the occasional mysterious insects mixed in.
Now, let me introduce a piece by AYOO NAOKI KANAZAWA, an artist I hold dear. The piece is a large bowl called BLUE GLAZE. Kanazawa is known for using unique and innovative glazes with deep colors.
Near Kanazawa's kiln in Amakusa lies the beautiful Shimabara Bay, and his works often evoke the vast and stunning sea views.
Adding summer vegetables to this bowl will enhance its color, making it perfect for brightening up your table as we approach the peak of summer.
