HARADAMAHO
SOLO EXHIBITION EDITOR'S NOTE

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, June 7th, HARADAMAHO’s solo exhibition will open at both COVERCHORD Nakameguro and Fukuoka stores.
Ahead of the exhibition,
our editorial team visited Harada’s workshop in Yamato, Kumamoto, and put together a feature article—check it out here:
Feature Article. 。
Harada’s warm, easygoing personality set a relaxed tone for the visit, and the interview flowed naturally as we chatted.
Her workshop, quietly nestled in the mountains, is surrounded by nature, offering a sense of calm.
For lunch, we were treated to homemade takana rice balls and tamagoyaki, enjoyed picnic-style with a breathtaking view.
It was a special moment—refreshing for both body and mind (though it was technically work).
However, once she began working on her pieces, the mood shifted dramatically. The air grew tense as she focused entirely on her craft.
Harada’s signature neriage technique requires exceptional precision and patience—it’s not just a skill, but the result of time and passion. Her pursuit of a unique expression is palpable in the quiet intensity of her studio.
“I’ve learned that the way I take my time and work carefully determines the next step. Even if I fail, I can accept it if I know I gave it everything I had.
But I don’t want regrets. Every year, it seems like more time goes into the unseen parts of the process. I used to think the longer I worked, the more I could make, but in reality, it’s probably the opposite,” she laughed.
Her words left a deep impression on me, offering valuable insights into the mindset of a true craftsperson.
This solo exhibition is available only at COVERCHORD’s physical stores. We hope you’ll visit in person, touch the works, and experience the powerful presence that comes from such a painstaking process.
Each piece holds a deep story and a quiet intensity. We hope they leave a lasting impression on many.
