This is SAKIMOTO’s signature Awamori from Yonaguni Island, the westernmost point of Japan, influenced by Taiwanese sake culture. It is made from raw liquor that is filtered without adding water, using the traditional method of direct-fire distillation in an old-fashioned earthenware pot. The liquor is made by collecting only the high-concentration portion in the early stages of distillation, resulting in a floral and vibrant aroma and a sweet and rich taste.

Based on Yonaguni Island, Okinawa, SAKIMOTO specializes in Awamori. With roots dating back to 1927, it was founded to protect local Awamori production that was on the verge of extinction. It continues to uphold traditional methods of distilling using small traditional pots, manned by a small team dedicated to preserving this unique craft.
