nonnative and Danish footwear and leather brand ECCO’s first collaborative boot is a top performer in the city or on the trail. The collaboration is driven by innovation. Both brands have meticulously high standards and seek to apply the very best technology wherever possible.

 

Unique to the footwear industry, ECCO owns and operates their own tanneries. Manufacturing leather has always used extensive amounts of water but ECCO have developed a revolutionary method which considerably minimizes the discharge of waste water and the use of chemicals. The result of this is DriTan™ leather, which saves 20 liters of water per hide, equal to 25 million liters of water annually. In addition to investing in green technology, ECCO continually develops all aspects of their footwear to enhance performance and comfort.

The base model ECCO EXOHIKE is a mid-cut trekking boot packed with state-of-the-art features to ensure maximum comfort and durability. Let’s explore some of the features below.

For the upper, a combination of hardwearing nylon and DriTan™ leather is used. Paired with the application of a GORE-TEX® membrane, the high-spec upper is 100% waterproof and breathable, essential for an outdoor boot.

The outsole is made by the tire company Michelin, who are undoubtedly experts at developing high grip surfaces. Crafted with a unique tread pattern, the outsole offers outstanding traction on all types of terrain, in all weather conditions.

Another ECCO feature is the lightweight and ultra-flexible FLUIDFORM™ midsole. It is created using shock-absorbing PHORENE™, a material specially designed to maintain its flexibility in temperatures down to -40°C. The unique PROSOMA heel cup wraps the heel to provide protective support, add stability and ensure a snug fit.

For this exclusive collaboration, the boot is dressed in two muted tonal hues, fitting seamlessly into the urban wardrobe. Whether in the mountains or on the streets, these highly functional boots deliver an extremely comfortable, durable ride.
