YAMAKAWA
Sakuraichiban 5-year-old Awamori
Hello!
It's Wataru, the barkeeper of Bar Kurage.
This time, I'd like to recommend the Sakuraichiban produced by Yamakawa Shuzo, a highly respected name in the world of Ryukyu Awamori.
The town where the distillery is located, Haebaru Town in Okinawa, is known for having the earliest cherry blossom festival in Japan. This particular brand, Sakuraichiban, is a 5-year-old aged Awamori with an alcohol content of a mild 25 degrees. Its most notable feature is its smooth and mild taste, you need to be careful not to drink too much. It pairs well with any meal and is especially great with dishes like sashimi. Mixing it on the rocks or with soda, and adding a twist of sudachi or shikwasa citrus, is also recommended.
For those who don't typically drink Awamori, it's the perfect choice for your first try. I'd love for you to add a touch of pink to your dining table with this bottle.
Currently, it's my top recommendation for Awamori. I always make sure not to run out of it at home!
Bar Kurage offers a wide selection of aged Awamori from Yamakawa Shuzo, so if you happen to be in the area, please do stop by.
